Dumb things
I was setting up a yoga place in the basement media room, while reinforcing the wall with 2x4s, I noticed that section of the wall was not anchored to the concrete floor!! It was only held in place from the top 12x6 beam… Unfortunately, I don’t have any tools for concrete work, so 300$ out and got a hammer drill and some 6in concrete screws. It took forever to drill those 3 holes on the slab, but in the end, everything paid off, the wall is properly secured on all sides.
This is one of the few dumb things the previous owner of the house did… The semi furnished media room in the basement was a good idea, but having a wall that’s not properly secured is BAD!!
