Re: Range hood
We are planning to replace the old exhaust fan above the range with something much quieter, the current fan in there is from 1972 and sounds like a jet engine… However, our kitchen is the so called “one butt” kitchen, too small to put a drop-down island range hood in the middle, just looks awkward. Then I came up with this brilliant idea of using a commercial low-noise exhaust fan with a grease filter, more CFM than standard range hood, 1 sone quieter, half the price and, in theory, should last longer than the range hood. The result turned out great, can’t get a much cleaner look than that :)
FYI: the insulation in the fan casing is hard on your skins, WEAR GLOVES!!
