Deck Rebuild 2
Day 1 working on the deck, first thing is to tear down the old boards. This should be easy with a hammer and crowbar… Or that I wished… Whoever built the deck thinks that using “U” shaped nails to hold the boards down is a great idea since the deck will last “forever”… It was a pain in the ass to remove the nails, not to say actually prying the boards off straight… It was a nightmare…
Then I came up with this great idea of using the angle grinder to grind down the nails so it will be easier to pry the boards off, it worked, sort of… The smoke and noise it generated was unbearable, I went through 2 disks just to take the first 1/4 of the deck boards off… It was slow AF…
I need a better way of ripping these boards off…
