Deck Rebuild 4

Managed to finish tearing off all the old decking boards this morning. After some close inspection of the base structure, everything appeared to be in great shape, except for a small section of the joist that needs to be reinforced. I did notice that the original builder did not use any ties/straps/hanger for the joists, which probably caused the old deck to be rather “soft”. So I went out and bought a bunch of hurricane ties and corner braces. Can believe how cheap they were.

I tested the corner braces on a small section of the deck, those 12 gage braces does wonders…
